Have you had moments, maybe even days, where you felt surrounded by and led by God’s spirit? I did and I wanted to know what it was like to have that all the time; the way Christ did. The way Paul did.
This is the prayer that brought me that. In return God gave me a completely new, simpler, richer more abundant life – abundance in the things that matter – love, peace, joy and a life of true purpose. This is what I’m sharing with you.
The Prayer
The Prayer? It’s a practical application of the Lord’s prayer “Thy Will Be Done.” Here it is. What do you want me to do today God? That’s it.
Does it seem too simple? It isn’t. It is the essence of “thy will be done on earth.” Imagine if every one prayed that prayer every day. What do you want me to do today God? How different the world would be. Imagine if just you did. How different would your life be?
Are You Too Busy?
Maybe you’re thinking you’re too busy for that kind of prayer. You have a very busy life and you don’t have time for one more thing. That’s what I thought. We don’t really trust God to remember we have obligations and commitments. We can’t just take off and be Mother Theresa or the Dalai Lama.
But He does know. He knows better than we do what today is going to bring. And tomorrow too. I was often surprised that what He asked me to do today handled problems I didn’t even know were coming and served people I didn’t even know needed help.
I learned it’s not about waiting until I have my life in order so I have time, money and energy to listen to God and do what He wants, it’s about listening to God, doing as He asks, and then He gets my life in order. It’s about turning my life over to God.
The way to turn your life over to God is to turn your day over to God. Every day. And step by daily step He will give you a new life and a new heart.
